Commander League Fall 2015

The league is three months long. September through November.

There is a one time $10 entry fee.  When you sign up and pay your fee you choose your commander for the league. Each legendary creature can only be registered once as a commander. This does not limit that card’s use in other decks.

  • Once per month a player may pay a $5 fee to switch commander.  Each player may only have one deck registered in the league at a time.

Players may switch all other cards in their decks outside of a game as they wish. Players may use legendary creatures in their 99 cards that have been registered as other player’s league commander .  We will be abiding by the Wizards commander ban list located here: http://magic.wizards.com/en/gameinfo/gameplay/formats/commander

  • Players may bring a 10 card sideboard in addition to their 99 cards and 1 Commander. After Commanders are announced, players have 3 minutes to make 1-for-1 substitutions to their deck. Your own sideboard can also be used to wish for cards that are outside the game. Any card that references bringing in cards from outside the game(ex. Spawnsire of Ulamog) also can only pull cards from your sideboard.

Because Commander games are long and usually not played in multi-game matches, Commander uses a modified mulligan rule designed to alleviate mana-light hands without significantly increasing the odds of finding individual cards. This is also known as the “Brittany” mulligan rule.

1. In turn order, players may exile (face down) some or all of the cards in their hand.
2. Each player then draws cards from their deck equal to the number they exiled.
3. Players who exiled at least one card may return to step 1 and repeat the process, drawing one less card each time.
4. Players shuffle all exiled cards into their deck.

Players may play up to four games each day that Super Salty is open, towards their league standing. Each game played is worth one point and each win is worth an additional point. Every Tuesday will  be League Day, where points are tripled. A game must last at least seven turns by each player before one of the players may forfeit. If a player loses before turn 7 from any other method the result will stand. After each game, players must report their record to the judge, and/or the employee behind the counter, to have their results recorded.  At the end, we will hold a tournament with all the players who have earned over 140 points.  Prizes will include invitations to participate in the Legacy Status tournament, where the victor will walk away with legacy status. Which includes discounts on a range of products. As well as perks including legacy member night only events. With additional perks to be added later.

  • If no other players are available for play someone who has completed their games for the day may act as an opponent. However, if that is the case regardless of outcome the player who is still to gain points will only receive one point for their game.
